Nordland Horse - The Nordlandshest/Lyngshest is a very old breed. They were used by the Vikings, were a main part of the breeding stock that made up the Icelandic horse, and still share many similarities. They may be a descendant of the Asiatic Wild Horse
The horses of the Akhal-teke breed shimmer of their coat. They are thoroughbreds (like English thoroughbreds and Arabians) and originate from Turkmenistan. The breed is thought to be over 2000 years old and is one of the very earliest horse breeds known.
