The capital of Finland, Helsinki, was bombed several times during World War II but not always by the Germans. Between 1939 and 1945, the Finnish fought three wars: two against the USSR and one against Germany. The largest raids against the city were the three in February 1944, they were so severe they have been called the Great Raids.
