Tabatière érotique, 18e siècle (vers 1780), en ivoire et écaille. Dans le couvecle une fenêtre laisse apparaitre une miniature peinte sur ivoire. Celle-ci cache un système qui transforme une scène anodine en scène érotique .

Portrait of a Man in a Red Cap Hans Holbein the Younger (German, Augsburg 1497/98–1543 London) The sitter was apparently attached to the court of Henry VIII, as his livery is embroidered with the initials H[R] for Henricus Rex. The frame is original and the reverse is painted black and decorated with engraved circles.

Young Woman, Called Mademoiselle Montredon by Jean Baptiste Greuze (Metropolitan Museum - New York City, New York USA), circa 1780 Not much is known about the subject of this portrait. She's a beauty but there's a sort of distant expression upon her face - her eyes fixed but not focused - her chin tilted up in a manner that is not quite impudent or haughty. She's a lovely woman but I suspect her story is a sad one. ~Leah Marie Brown
