I waited 10 years to take this photo: Lightning in the SF Bay Area is pretty rare; it happens maybe once a year. When it strikes it is not in the right place, chosing to be behind the hills or blocked.

Prayen mantise.. one is on the kitchen window looking in at me right now.  7-23-13..... pretty neat to see......
