This photograph was taken shortly after dawn at The Boneyard on Bombo Headland, near Kiama on the south coast of NSW, Australia in August 2011. The basalt columns are the remnants of a quarry. In a large swell such as was occurring on the shoot, the waves crash into the columns and go straight up, so this shot was merely a question of timing.
