Mora clocks have such an interesting history. In the 18th century, the farming town of Mora, Sweden fell upon hard times, forcing the farmers to find new sources of income. Many of the families started making clocks, with each family specializing in a specific area of the clock making. Some made the brass clockworks, some painted the faces, while others painted, or built the cases. More than 1000 clocks were produced each year, for 80 years.
