100 years old this year, a beautiful large east Anatolian Erzurum, Kars district prayer kilim from the Gumushane/Erzincan area. Fine weaving of three complex borders and intricate motifs, central tree of life and small female figure. Wool on a light natural and dark brown hand spun wool foundation, plaited guard borders. Dated 1332 in Arabic, 1915 in our calendar. Stored as a dowry kilim, so in amazingly good original condition - an exceptional example. 200cm x 145cm.
