Wm K. Vanderbilt II, Consuelo's brother, was an auto enthusiast and founder of the Vanderbilt Cup Auto Races. He developed and financed the Long Island Motor Parkway (LIMP), the first autos-only roadway in the US, which operated as a toll road from 1908-1938. He built the tony "Petit Trianon" on the shoreline at Lake Ronkonkoma as a destination for those "out for a drive."
Greenport named one of 'America's Prettiest Towns'. Greenport has been named by Forbes Magazine as one of the 11 prettiest towns and villages in the America. I lived there for 24 years and loved it and still do.
