Nudibranches are soft-bodied, marine gastropod mollusks which shed their shell after their larval stage. They are noted for their often extraordinary colors and striking forms. The clade Nudibranchia is the largest clade within the heterobranchs, with more than 3,000 described species. They live at virtually all depths of salt water.

Goniobranchus gleniei (Nudibranchia - Chromodorididae), a colorful sea slug distributed in the Indo-Pacific, formerly named Chromodoris gleniei [1]. This Chromodorid is a relatively uncommon species. The coloration is very disctinctive, being the only species with the brown medial patch with deep purple or black markings, and an undulating margin.
