I remember having to climb to the ceiling in the gym and ring a bell. Even in grade we were scrambling up the freakin' ropes. I doubt many schools force kids to do that or fail gym.

Used to play Chinese Jump Rope constantly! Made our own ropes out of wide elastic that we purchased.

An old water pump. This was how we got water at my Aunt's house.

We had city water, but we had some neighbors and my Great Grandmother had a water pump. I remember pumping a bucket of water for the horses at our friends' house/farm.

Still can. For a small amount it works well and can refrigerate until needed. Easy to use easy too clean.

School milk - it came in bottles, then bags, then cartons, then Thatcher the milk snatcher took it away altogether! Frozen in Winter, turned in the summer. I was a milk monitor
