While the splendor of Byzantium still lingered.Before the spires of the great gothic cathedrals began to rise against the sky, sturdy romanesque structures caught winter snows and gave shelter to pilgrims.
Reminds me of the chapel in Schladming, Austria where I went to school. The Snow Church is the oldest structure in Yosemite Valley. It was designed by Charles Geddes, an accomplished church architect from San Francisco.
This area truly is beautiful in the winter with the snow and Christmas lights. My mom used to take my sisters and me to Chicago each year at Christmas-time it was truly magical. I will forever remember Christmas-time in Chicago.
