Faces 2 This series constitutes Ashkan Honarvar’s search for an identity and the physical and psychological wounds inflicted on soldiers by war. Ashkan Honarvar used existing pictures of young First World War soldiers with facial mutilations.

(no credit given in source website) I love this design because of its clever dual meaning. The white negative space can be seen as a city with an indigo sky. Or, the gradient lines and blue cloudish thing can be seen as a forest. It all amalgamates into a dual urban/forest setting: the forest being what it once was or is, and the urban environment being what it either is or will be if the human plight continues.
