There were a number of tiny brooks running straight across it from side to side, and the ground between was divided up into squares by a number of little green hedges, that reached from brook to brook.

In my dreams, Alice  appears - in this illustration, which suddenly becomes animated. She turns her head, looks at me and says, "I'm stuck in Flint, Michigan. Can you come get me?"
