A dormer on the south side of the house contains two bedrooms. One of the bedrooms features a reading loft carved out of the attic space above the dining room. The intersection of the gabled roof and the shed dormers allowed us to wrap large windows around each corner, taking advantage of the “borrowed landscape”—treetop views that root the house to its site. Reading niche by Merzbau Design Collective. Great idea for a contemporary kid room. The reading nook is placed inside a recessed attic space, and sized to fit a twin mattress.

So cool.. I would have loved this when I was a kid and I think the grand kids would love it too.

brilliant kids' hideaway/fort, that my friend Dera built for he daughter

Love this look for boys room

Lynn Morgan Design: Nautical theme boys' bedroom with white tongue and groove paneled built-in bunk beds .

polka dots

My 13 year old daughter's room is pink and orange painted like this with a bunk bed. I love the polka dot idea to combine the colors. The soothing contrast of the white bed is perfect. I would love to paint my daughter's white too!

Built-In Daybed with Upholstered Headboard nestled between 2 built-in's. I would have this for my child when I have one, someday. But mine will be polka dot, with one of his or her favorite stories where the writing is.

could we turn your queen and center on headboard wall - so that there is more floor space? Just use two smaller night tables. - I think it's worth thinking about before buying any kind of headboard. Queen size daybed with storage- built in to the wall!

It's a toddler bed. It's a jungle gym. And definitely the kind of furniture that makes sending your child to their room a no go as punishment. :-)

the boo and the boy: Really cool kids beds LOVe this with the fort on top. Not sure how safe the pulley is, but it is pretty cool. Will use that circle cutout for the curtains on Luke's bed.
