The Twilight Egg (or The Night Egg),  lapis lazuli, gold, diamonds, moonstone, paillons, enamel, carving, 1917. The back of the egg is set with a lapis lazuli Romanov Eagle, carved in relief above the date, 1917, inlaid in engraved gold.

The lid embellished with a gold and diamond Imperial eagle surrounded by a series of faceted colored gem-stones, applied cast silver and gold wreath and laurels, Ruby thumb push closure.
