I like to use a long milliners style needle and standard sewing thread. Assiut presses well with steam, so I pin it in and stitch it with medium loose tension. Then I press the hem in thoroughly for a clean crisp edge.
This is MIddle Eastern Telly Work - NOT assiut. As you can see, the ground cloth is plain mesh and the stitches puncture the cloth. Each stitch is irregularly made, unlike the regularity of the Telly cloth from assiut, which is made on a ground of bobbinet or tulle. Love to see such details of this work.
