Sarah Boone (1832-1904), an inventor who rec'd a patent for improvements to the ironing board. Boone’s ironing board was designed to improve the quality of ironing sleeves and the bodies of women’s garments. The board was very narrow, curved, and made of wood. The shape and structure allowed it to fit a sleeve and it was reversible, so one could iron both sides of the sleeve.

Choose hardy plants such as dwarf evergreen shrubs, conifers, heuchera, ornamental grasses, heathers, violas and pansies are perfect for planting now. Mix the colours, shapes and textures for the best effect.  1 Start with trailing plants around the edge 2 Add a taller plant in the centre for height and structure 3 Fill in the gaps with flowering or foliage plants.
