this could be cute - mixing paint colors - maybe put a flower that is the complimentary color.

You draw and paint two similar pictures and weave them together. This is also from former art teacher Mary Lea H.'s blog site - pinkandgreenmama.blogspot.com. I really like her projects.

kindergarten color wheel umbrellas with fingerprint rain. Not sure what kind of colour wheel this is, but I like the concept. I find it helps for future concepts to always have the complementary colour directly across from it's mate.
