The Thinker, Musée Rodin, Paris. I can't see anything about this statue without thinking of my thoughts and words when I saw it in person... "That's it?" My dad busted out laughing and all the strangers just glared at me... lets just say I thought it was going to be a lot bigger.
Gian Lorenzo Bernini, Saint Longinus, 1638, marble. Saint Longinus is part of the chiaroscuro exhibit because of his dramatic pose. The position he is standing in conjunction with the lifelike folds sculpted by Bernini create shadows to accentuate the sculpture as a whole.
