Turku Archipelago

Turku Archipelago

"Walk by Aura river" by Katja Presnal on @findery While Turku is famous for its gorgeous archipelago, you can't see the sea view from the city center, like you can in Stockholm and Helsinki. There are close to 300 large islands in the archipelago, and around 50,000 small uninhabitable rocks and skerries before you arrive to downtown Turku. Downtown Turku is really famous for it's Aura river that splits the city in half. There is always a quarrel which side of the river is the "real Turku."

"Cafe Art in Turku" by Katja Presnal on @findery One of my many favorite cafes in Turku is Cafe Art. Their pastries are to die for, and their smoked salmon sandwiches taste like Finland to me. They roast their own coffee, they are always welcoming, and it's a favorite place both by locals and visitors. One of the best things is the location right by Aura-river, and on the summer time they even have a few tables by the river so you can sit and enjoy the day outdoors.
