Gang-Gang Cockatoos, endemic to SE Australia, are gregarious yet quiet cockatoos. Tree dwellers, they prefer mt. forests and woodlands w tall trees for nest hollows. They come to ground only to drink & forage for food: fruit, seeds, berries, nuts, insects. In non-breeding season, they feed in flocks of 50+; in breeding season - in pairs/sml family gps. They form close monogamous pairs. Both build nest, incubate eggs, care for young 4-6 weeks post-fledging.
