This sign is made from recycled wood that is hand picked and hand cut by me. It is thoroughly cleaned before use so no worries of uninvited little guests! I use different lengths of wood to create an unique appearance ranging from 18-24." The wood is given a light stain (or left natural) just to highlight the wood. Any knots, nail holes or splits are to be viewed as part of the wood's beauty and not a defect. Each piece of wood absorbs the stain differently so each piece is different. The wood is then attached together and I go to work on creating a beautiful array of sea shells in the shape of a swirled heart. The shells are all collected by me (or my kids) from the Gulf of Mexico. I do not buy shells so you know you are getting a more natural piece of art therefore there may be broken or half shells. The shells are boiled and cleaned, but nothing else is done to them so their true beauty is shown. The shells are attached with a very strong adhesive glue so will not damage in travel. On the back is a large saw tooth hanger so it comes ready to hang.
