The deep blue Crystal Cave of Svmnafellsjvkull (CORR) in Skaftafell, Iceland was created by the glacier from Vrffajvkull Volcano's icecap meeting the coastline. The deep blue color is due to centuries of compression removing air from the ice.
Highlights include the Eisriesenwelt Giant Ice Cave with its sub-zero summer temperatures and huge caverns with magnificent frozen waterfalls, and the Mammoth Cave with its huge pipe-shaped galleries formed by an ancient underground river.
A unique geological phenomenon known as Danxia landform. Observed in several places in China. This example is located in Zhangye, Province of Gansu. The color is the result of an accumulation for millions of years of red sandstone and other rocks.
