"Sense and Sensibility" (1995). Rich Mr. Dashwood dies, leaving his second wife and her three daughters poor by the rules of inheritance. The two eldest daughters are the titular opposites. Based on the Jane Austen novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
One of the best screwball comedies of the 1930's and 1940's. Others include My Man Godfrey, The Awful Truth, My Favorite Wife, The Palm Beach Story, Bachelor Mother, Ninotchka, The Lady Eve, Ball of Fire, and Arsenic and Old Lace.
Same Time, Next Year (1978) starring Alan Alda and Ellen Burstyn One of my absolute favorites!
Splendor in the Grass (1961)
"Splendor in the Grass" is my absolute favorite movie. It's from 1961, and has my favorite actress ever in it...the beautiful Natalie Wood. Also, Warren Beatty is hot hot hot in his very first movie. It's a very dramatic love story and quite the tearjerker!
