This Farahan Sarouk rug was finely woven during the first quarter of the 20th century. It features a navy ground Herati design field with cornices and a central polygon medallion utilizing a red ground Herati pattern. A fun play of pattern and color that is finely woven and well-executed. The main border is a detailed scrolling palmette design with two minor borders of alternating rosettes.
