Living and Non-Living Things for Elementary Science

This is an interactive (drag and drop) living versus non-living activity that uses Google Slides and is Google Classroom ready! Perfect for kindergarten, first grade and second grade. It can be used as an interactive whiteboard activity or assigned on digital devices for older students. Once purchased, you will get a link to copy resources directly to your Google Drive. ****************************************** Here's what's included: an introduction slide that contains an embedded link to a YouTube video (approx. 5 minutes) with an overview of how scientists determine whether something is living or non-living. It's geared toward elementary students! 3 interactive, drag and drop slides where students classify 9 various things as living or non-living (such as a dog, cloud, cactus, the moon). The slides get progressively more challenging. 2 differentiated assessment slides (the first asks students to identify things around them that are living or non-living) then either draw, write, or take a picture about their choices. The next assessment asks them to identify something that is "tricky," meaning it is tough to determine whether it is alive or not. Both emphasize creativity and critical thinking skills. a teacher key and tips sheet!
