New natural playground opens at Northampton Park

Monroe County leaders cut the ribbon on a new natural playground Monday. Alpine Playground is located at Northampton Park in Ogden. It’s the first new addition to the park in a long time, although this playground may look and feel a bit familiar. Instead of bringing kids to the forest, it came to them. The Alpine Playground is made up of 100 tons of boulders and locust trees from county parks. It may also look familiar for another reason: this is one of three alpine parks in the county.
