Wife carrying (Estonian: naisekandmine, Finnish: eukonkanto or akankanto, Swedish: kärringkånk) sport which males carrying a female. Goal, male to carry the lady through an obstacle track in best time. Sport first held at Sonkajärvi, Finland. Types of carry practiced: piggyback, fireman's carry, or Estonian-style (wife upside-down w/ legs around husband's shoulders, holding his waist). World Championships held yearly in Sonkajärvi, Finland since 1992, prize is the wife's weight in beer.
