Look at this bonsai of a pine cone and a pine (Pinus Contorta) in a beautiful purple colour, made by one of our instagrammers of the week. We're certainly close to nature in this company!

Sphagnum mosses shows that the ground is wet. Close to a stream these mosses often indicates where you should delimit the buffer zone in felling operations to preserve water quality and biodiversity.

The trees are heading for their winter-sleep, leaving frosty autumn leaves on the ground. Close to the nature when working at Stora Enso.

In many Stora Enso locations, we are right next to nature's wild life. Like here, in the Veitsiluoto landfill area. Terek sandpiper is keen on forest industry and specially wood yards. Veitsiluoto mill area is one of the few nesting places of this beautifull bird in whole western Europe.

This pile of stone has more to it than meets the eye. The forests managed by Stora Enso in Sweden are rich in historical remains and people have been living in these areas for thousands of years. That puts special demands on how to plan in the field as well as how to use forest machines.

Clear water revival for Lake Vänern

The water quality in Lake Vänern, Sweden, is now as good as it was 100 years ago, thanks to many local improvements in industrial and municipal wastewater treatment. Stora Enso is part of this work.
