Apartment LP
The starting point for the renovation in this apartment was clear - to create a more functional home that also looks like the people living there. The biggest changes were carried out in the hallway, kitchen and walk-in closet, which the apartment didn’t initially have. Thus, you can also circle the apartment, which adds to the spacious feeling and lets the light in to the centre. We found a perfect place for the mirror in the sliding door, which creates a visually interesting surprise.

What kind of spaces break boundaries? The reception of the marketing communications agency Republic of Communications received a new look both functionally and visually. In the end result you can observe both courage and multifunctionality: the space can be transformed to serve workshops, lunch breaks and bigger events.

STUDYO
What kind of spaces give wings to your thoughts? In the premises of the software company Studyo light and colour play the head role creating an airy and harmonical atmosphere. The living room-like lounge in the entry leads to the sky-blue negotiation room. In these premises I wanted to create particular contrast with different kinds of surface materials.

The Finnish Institute in Germany
The Finnish Institute in Germany is a forum for Finnish culture and arts, academia and business in the German-speaking region. Their new premises are situated in Berlin Mitte. We wanted them to breathe Scandinavian design. My aim was to create an elegant yet contemporary close-to-nature atmosphere in urban Berlin. I designed a few pieces of furniture with wood as main material for the Institute.

TEK Lounge II
This is a living-room-like multifunctional space – the TEK Lounge. The space in Lappeenranta shares the same idea of multifunctionality as the first lounge in Tampere. When designing this space, I was inspired by sustainable development that is a focus point in their research and the down-to-earth feeling at the campus. I started to see the space as a garden-like eco lab.

HOUSE VS
In the beginning of the project, the 1970’s house was in its original attire. How to combine the past smoothly with the present? In this comprehensive renovation, no space was left untouched. The target of the design was to find a main thread for the decoration, which resulted in combining a Scandinavian and modern look with the house’s 1970’s elegance. The residents’ inspiring travelling experiences added an Asian touch to the end result.
