Helene Schjerfbeck ~ Espressionist painter
Finnish painter Helene Schjerfbeck (1862-1946) is most widely known for her realist works and self-portraits, and less well known for her landscapes and still lifes. Throughout her long life, her work changed dramatically. She was supposedly a Realist, a Romanticist, an Impressionist, a Naturalist, a Symbolist, an Expressionist and a wildly ahead-of-her-time Abstractist.
Savolaisvene, Eero Järnefelt (1863-1937) - Järnefeltin vars.taiteell.kypsym.tapahtui Pariisissa.Hän opisk.aluksi Académie Julianissa Gustave Bouguereaun ja Tony Robert Fleuryn johdolla,sittemmin omin päin.Häntä kiinnosti naturalistinen maalaustaide.Järnefeltin tuotannossa merkkivuosi on 1888,jolloin pariisilaisvaikutteet kiteytyivät omaksi tyyliksi.Tuolloin valm.mm.osittain vielä venäl.realismiin viittaava Ranskalainen viinikapakka ja Bastien-Lepagen esikuvaa noudattava Savolaisvene.

His work was considered very important for the Finnish national identity. He changed his name from Gallen to Gallen-Kallela in 1907.
