Jacques-Yves Cousteau was a naval officer in World War II & helped to set up France's commando frogmen. France further developed role of commando frogmen in First Indochina War. Since 1950s, commando frogmen of French Navy have been together in Commando Hubert, only Commando marine having combat swimmers. They operate from ship Le Malin, & this is a very elite special forces unit.
