The Perfect - A simple way of saving water over the summer. We all know how porous terracotta pots are... Well, I use a 14cm tall terracotta pot. Silicone over the hole at the bottom. Plant the pot near the zucchini. Fill it with water and put the pot's saucer on top (which stops unwanted things from getting into the pot). The idea is the roots of the plant are drawn to the water that is seeping out from around the pot! Hence why we use terracotta. I only need to fill the pot every 2-3 days, depending on the size of the plant and the weather (if it's been hot or raining). You don't need to water the zucchini any other way. I've put liquid fertilizer in the pot before as well. The only downside is when the zucchini plant is massive as it's a bit awkward getting to the pot amongst the prickly stems! I also put a pot by my cucumbers and any other plants that are prone to powdery mildew but need plenty of water. See more: https://mideas.co/ZnvnB | Facebook
