Web of Galaxies. The astronomically huge scale thing. (Photo from Millennium Simulation Project).

For the first time, astronomers discovered the "cosmic web" of galaxies that holds together the known universe some seven billion light-years from Earth. Science allows inquiring minds to unlock the world's mysteries.

Web of neurons. A small, microscopic scale thing.

Neurons often have extensive networks of dendrites, which receive synaptic connections. Shown is a pyramidal neuron from the hippocampus, stained for green fluorescent protein.

How could I forget this album. Somewhere around 1985-1986 TS hit hard. I even had the official album T-shirt. ;)

Thinking afterwards, so much good music in the end of the 1980's. This one was something new and refreshing. A little treat for what was coming.

Exhibit MEGABLAST Made on an Atari ST and incorporating a sample of the theme music to John Carpenter's Assault on Precinct this Bomb Da Bass track was also used by the Bitmap Brothers in the computer game Xenon 2 Megablast.

In the summer of 1986 - AC/DC and Who Made Who. Year or two later I saw first time the movie Maximum Overdrive, based on Stephen King novel. Movie soundtrack is full TNT, if you know what I mean. ;)

Return of the Jedi. I saw this on the second round in Finland 1985. Age limit was 12 years, and I was only 11, so once again I had to ask my father to be my guide. Oh, how many times there was the Battle of Endor in the forest nearby my home. ;)

Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi Poster. Back when movie studios still used hand-painted prints!

1984 - year of several hit singles. Van Halen "Jump", Nena had 99 Luftballons (99 Red Balloons in english version), Time after time by Cyndi Lauper, Dancing in the dark by The Boss (Bruce Springsteen), ZZ Top with Legs, Ghostbusters theme, What's Love Got to Do with It by Tina Turner,... How many do you remember?

Van Halen - Jump These guys really knew how to rock and they were from my native Southern California too. Love this band. Van Hagar was also excellent, but I& got a soft place in my heart for Van Halen with David Lee Roth.

In Autumn 1984 Beat Street hit my world. I wasn't old enough to go to the movie alone, so I had to go to the cinema with my father. Oh boy, what a movie for about 10 year old kid. :D

Beat Street Of all of the "breakdance" movies in the that came out, Beat Street is the most watchable, best scripted, with the best hip-hop dancing.
