My welcome packet that goes to the parents deceiving classroom procedures. They review each page and sign off on the Checklist and add information such as contact info and who to send homework home with if student misses. This way if I have any issues I can say that they signed off on the procedures! Also a spot for the students to sign off. They have to be responsible too!
Parent Teacher Conference Tip: Always give parents goodies to take home after their conference. I give a list of educational websites/apps, a bookmark with reading comprehension questions, and a checklist of ways to help their child at home. Last but not least, send home a sweet treat for the kiddo... 'Thanks for taking the time to POP in!' :) More tips for productive Parent Teacher Conferences on the blog post!
