Watercolor; 50.8 x 71.8 cm. Carl Olaf Larsson was born on May, 28th 1853 at Stockholm. His parents were farmers at Gamla Stan, he had an unhappy infancy because his family was poor. After a school for poor people he lived in Paris and worked as an illustrator for books or newspapers. In 1882 in a community of artist at Grez sur Loing he met his model and wife, a swedish painter, Karin Bergöö. He became a Professor of "Beau arts" school on 1889 at Gôteborg.
