Take a glass bottom boat tour to spot underwater shipwrecks, photograph the area's many lighthouses and waterfalls, and sample U.P. wine, mead, poutine, and deep fried cheese curds. The Tunnel of Trees is one of Michigan’s prettiest drives, especially in the fall. For the past couple of years, Kyle and I have booked a cabin up in Harbor Springs along this idyllic strip. The Tunnel of Trees is a 16-mile stretch of winding road through the forests along Lake Michigan. With dozens of cabin vacation rentals in the area, it’s the perfect place to cozy up by the fire for a long weekend.
