Harriette Yeckel, Zonta International President 1972-1974, passed away on Saturday, 5 January.  Harriette was introduced to Zonta as the recipient of a scholarship from the Zonta Club of Denver and was subsequently invited to join Zonta, an organization she served for more than 50 years.

The Yellow Rose of Zonta International, this was introduced at the 1984 Sydney Convention.Harkness Roses (UK) developed the rose and an Australian Zontian Marion Ross enabled the presentation of the rose. It serves as a symbol of Zonta Rose day on the 8th March and known as a symbol of friendship.
