We help you grow. on Instagram: "ONION CURING - In the past, we have struggled to grow bulbing onions…and when you put that much time into a crop and finally get it right, you want to be sure you get to use them.

Harvest your onions when the leaves start to yellow and the neck breaks, or flops over. Pull it out of the ground and put it in a warm space with a good amount of air flow for at least a week if not a bit longer. This allows the neck and roots to dry out. At this point, the onion is far more “sealed” and can last longer on a pantry shelf. Store in a cool dry area, or in the fridge in a paper towel if you’ve got a big juicy boy like we do 😜" Larder, Warm, Onion, Growing, Harvest, Juicy

Jamie Walton | Nettles & Petals on Instagram: "Double your Basil - every time you Harvest! 🌱 (Featuring a visit from a little friend) 🐝👀😂 So, wether you buy or grow Basil plants for your windowsill or garden, don’t just pick individual leaves! Pruning the basil plants just above the nodes (where the leaves grow from the stem) will promote the growth of two new stems in its place. This will produce a far bushier, more productive and longer lasting plant overall. 😊👍🏻🌱 And who doesn’t want Fruit, Nettle, Growing Basil, Basil Plant, Stems

Jamie Walton | Nettles & Petals on Instagram: "Why I grow… Nasturtium 🌼 I grow nasturtium every year as they are just so versatile… All parts of the plant are edible, including the leaves, flowers and seed pods. They have quite a peppery flavour and I even treat the seed pods like a caper and pickle some every year! 😋 They produce large vibrant flowers that are great for attracting pollinators and add colour to the garden beds. Nasturtium also have the added benefit of being loved by many c Vegetable Garden, Seeds, Veggie Garden, Pickle, Seed Pods, Growers

Think about it: in nature, wind blows over plants as they develop, applying force to young seedlings and causing the plants to grow in response a thicker, sturdier stem. This is the second most important factor for productive indoor seed starting in our opinion, next to adequate light 💡" Seed Starting, Indoor
